The Avid Quintet, a contemporary collective composed of talented undergrad conservatory musicians redefining what jazz means for a new generation.

 

Formed at the Berklee College of Music, The Avid Quintet is the embodiment of youthful audacity and musical ingenuity. Drawing inspiration from jazz’s rich historical legacy, the ensemble seamlessly integrates elements of gospel, alternative, electronic and folk music traditions into a compelling and cohesive summation. Their music is both an homage to the past and a bold leap into the future, bridging generational and cultural divides with artistry and finesse.

Isaiah Javier

Tenor Saxophone

 

Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Isaiah continues to develop on the east coast studying with masters like Walter Smith III, Godwin Louis, and George Garzone.

Max Levenson

Piano
 
Born and raised in Manhattan, Max has been on the NYC music scene since a young age, and has studied with the likes of Aaron Parks & Linda May Han Oh. Influenced by sounds in jazz and beyond, he consistently aims to grow as a composer and improviser.

Sam Hicks

Drums
 
Hailing from the Midwest, Sam has studied with greats such as Gregory Hutchinson and Kweku Sumbry. Be it composing or playing, he continues to evolve within the greater east cost scene while never forgetting his Michigan roots.

Noam Bushkanitz

Bass

 
A native of Tel Aviv Israel, Noam has emerged as one of the most in-demand bassists on the Boston music scene. Influenced by a broad range of styles, Noam seeks to express his unique voice on the bass in all musical settings.

Liam Rosenthal

Guitar

 
Originating from Mesilat Zion, a small village in Israel, Liam has asserted himself on the east coast as a distinguished player on guitar. Like many of his bandmates, his diverse pool of musical influences adds to his prowess on the band stand.
